This is only the 3rd Wilder film that I've seen (after Ace in the Hole and Sabrina), but I'd really have to consider him one of my favourite writers/directors. There are very, very few people out there with an ear for dialogue like this man.
I loved the other two movies, but this is just the definition of a masterpiece...pretty much perfect in every way. If you consider yourself a fan of film and you haven't seen this, you really owe it to yourself. Brilliant, brilliant movie.

Wilder was a genius and capable of hopping from dark satire to screwball comedy to taught thriller with grace and ease. Check out Double Indemnity, it's one of the best nior thrillers ever filmed
