some are shot in 18 days, some take 90 or more. It all depends on your budget and how wasteful/thrifty you are going to be.
And average mid-budget film $8-20 Million will shoot for 40 days, but then the post-production process can take quite a bit of time. Luckily for us, Argento essentially edits in the can, meaning he knows the shots he's going to use in the final cut and only shoots those - he shoots minimal coverage which speeds up the process.
We start editing in a few weeks and it will take at least a month (I'd say more like 3, but I've been told it will go faster) to complete... then who knows how long before it is made available to the public?
