and isn't there a kind of double standard here? it's okay for a younger guy to date and older girl and even an older guy to date a younger girl. but it's considered perposterous if an older girl dates a younger guy. anyone else notice this? it's sad in most cases, but i guess the years of listening to my stepdad bitch about it have gotten to me. personally, i think his opinion isn't worth shit, but his views on life still piss me off to no end.

I say true confidence comes from being
your own self, what you are. And its true, that societal standards dont always permit a person to be themselves (hence the need of donning a "mask" at least half-a-day), but I have noticed a very uncommon fact - people who are themselves are the
most satisfied and contended ones in life. ALL others are always on the lookout of more...some more...money, power, relationships, women (in case of men) etc.
And about double standards - surely it was a thing of the past. With women lib getting strong claims from all over the world, and the decrease in the say of the Church and dominant males in our society, I think any sort of relationship (as long as its a healthy one) is generally acceptable. Lately we have grown to accept lesbians and gays, haven't we? I think most people have become very liberal and broad-minded in that particular aspect.
