Anything that is dated by 20 years is now going to be remade.
To show new kids in a better quality.
I asked my nephew if he ever saw Back to the Future or Indiana Jones and he said, "No those movies are old and stupid."
Kids nowadays just can't appreciate anything that is more then like ten years old and studios are picking up on that and are gonna remake everything.
