Stephen King writes....er has written many of the greatest horror books of all time. That being said, many of them have been mangled into HORRIBLE movies, some good, but most weren't. Im thinkin this thread is about Horror in general, not just movies. So that gives Stephen King a little more clout in that respect.
Still that being said:
EDGAR ALLEN POE did more for the genre than anyone did or can ever do again, just my opinion tho.
