Based on a book, yes, but awesome movie...also, doesn't have Sleepy Hollow 2, 3, 4 etc. etc. after it too. ;)

For sure but I'm not touting the merits of any particular movie or series here. Saw could have been much worse but if it made a ton of cash and stayed a hard R it still would serve as a beacon of hope to those who like their horror R (or worse). Personally I wouldn't care if rated R horror was released less and less to the theaters as a lot of the films I enjoy really didn't get a proper mainstream theater release anyway. I do think that dismissing any horror film
simply because of the rating is short sighted and ignorant.
