I love the stuff, but rarely do it anymore. As I age I get more of a stone-over in the morning, and I do most of my writing in the morning. Can't let ANYTHING get in the way of the work.

But when I'm really stressed out, it's the best medicine. And I love watching movies a little stoned, it helps me turn off the writer mind and allow myself to be fully immersed in the story and characters.

Every once in a while, when I'm really stuck for ideas, I'll smoke a ton and get baked then have the wife bounce stupid questions off me until the tangential stoner mind comes up with something brilliant...

this must of course be written down immediately before the next flood of random ideas comes and obliterates the original thought - not something I do every day, as it breeds laziness (both mental and physical) but once in a while it can be a very effective tool for unlocking creativity.

And since I quit smoking (cigarettes & cigars) a couple of years ago I rather enjoy the smoking aspect of the drug even more. It feels social and tribal in a way that I didn't think about when I smoked other products as well.
