Hey, at least you saved your nail. Better to have it then a dead one which dries up and drops off, leaving the annoying fleshy space.
Bout 3 yrs back we were unpacking and I dropped the inverter right on the big toe of my left foot. It smashed the toe to a bloody pulp which bled for almost 3 hours till I got to the doc, who gave 10 percent chance of the nail to stay on. But the toe healed (in almost 3-4 months), and the nail now is two-pieced. Meaning it grows as two pieces but is joined in the centre.
Doesn't look any different from a regular nail unless you look carefully and notice the wedge in-between.
