You seem to have a knack with these short stories. As much as I try, my short stories all seem to be in danger of becoming epics, too much info', resulting in waffling on paper, trying to juggle where I could put the new bits in, ending up becoming too complicated and losing interest.
The dreaded "syndrome" again. :(

I have actually been meaning to reply to this post for it looks like over a year now. I have a similar problem, in a way. I often fall in love with the characters and worlds i make up (usually sci fi and fantasy) and they grow from a short story into an epic massive world that grows way too quickly.
Horror stories are easier because they are always very final; there is no greater world i am creating, so it makes it very easy to end it when they story is done. For me anyway. Stephen King cant turn his brain off, which is why he is the leonardo davinci of modern horror. i dont think anyone has produced a body of fiction the size of his, that is consistantly applauded as his. Dean Koontz writes a lot, but he gets old. quickly.
