I caught this a little earlier in the month and I have to be honest, I was pleasantly surprised.
While it's obviously a low budget movie, that doesn't stop the director from his job - directing a motion picture. The acting, whilst sometimes wooden and occasionally brick, was on the whole above par for this type of film. It's no Mansquito, but honestly, what is?
But the big question with any films in this genre is, of course, "What's the monster like?" I shall answer the question with another question - what's the blackest, nastiest, most terrible dream you have ever had of a mammoth? Yes? There lies your answer, broken and twisted on a flickering television screen for all to see.
In this reviewers humble opinion, it is the best Mammoth related film of 2008. Perhaps even the best "prehistoric creature revived in modern times" film of the last few years. Kudos to Mr. Cox and his motley crew of humans - you have surpassed yourselves with this film, and I eagerly await the sequel, "Mammoth 2: Mammmmoth"
