Confirmed Casting for Batman, Wonder Woman and Iris Allen
Justice League casting confirmations from the studio, although vehemently rumored to be announced soon, have been slow coming. IESB has been able to confirm the casting of Adam Brody, Teresa Palmer and Common through various sources and we’ve got one more to add to the list today.
Armie Hammer.
I know what you’re thinking, “WHO?”
Armie Hammer, short for Armand Hammer not to be confused with Arm & Hammer the popular “do-everything” household agent. But yes, Armie Hammer has joined the cast as none other than the Dark Knight himself, Batman.
Clocking in at 6 foot 5 inches tall, Hammer certainly has the stature for the role, plus as an added bonus he’s an amateur magician…I kid you not.
Plus what else do the roles of “Abercrombie Boy” and “Male Prefect” prepare you for besides one of the greatest superheroes of all time? He may look the part and have the right statue, but the guy is only 21 years old! What’s with that?
If you’re not familiar with Hammer, you’re not alone – he’s only appeared in a few things, and even then you’d have to pause his scenes to spot him. He had a blink-and-you’ll-miss-him part in the Alison Lohman starring remake of “Flicka” and apparently played a role in an episode of “Veronica Mars”. All I can say is… he must have a darn good agent, and an aggressive one of that. How else would he have gotten the part?
Yes, Wonder Woman has been cast, Megan Gale is going to play Princess Diana (and NOT Mary Elizabeth Winstead), but is she the right choice for a role model to young girls everywhere?
It’s pretty much common knowledge that the supermodel snagged the invisible jet. Interestingly enough, Gale is 31, a whole ten years older than the guy they’ve just cast as Batman… seem a little off to you, too? Besides modelling, Gale is most famous for her long running feud with fellow model, Jennifer Hawkins, over in Australia.
And the last part? Zoe Kazan’s been rumoured for a couple of weeks now as Iris Allen, other half of Barry Allen/The Flash. A chat to Zoe yesterday confirmed the news. But she isn’t able to say anything more than that at this stage. If you’ve seen the recent “Fracture” with Tony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling, she’s the lass who played Mona.
So there you got your superheroes, folks...
Adam Brody - The Flash
Common - Green Lantern
Armie Hammer - Batman
Megan Gale - Wonder Woman
Teresa Palmer - Talia Al Ghul
Zoe Kazan - Iris Allen
And that leaves Superman's casting. Well, your guess is as good as mine so...feel free to go right ahead.
