For your information, it's not as if he announced what kind of person he was when I met him. It was a gradual process. I had to find out on my own. Didn't you even watch that movie, The Burning Bed? No, he never really beat up on me, but he did beat up on his ex-girlfriends, which I did not even know about until 3 years into the relationship, and by that time, I was in one of those situations where I felt manipulated and TRAPPED.
