Granted this comes from a househusband who has been in Broadway musicals and worked as a chef so take it or leave it, but this is what I teach my boys...
A MAN shows respect for himself and those around him, understands the implications of his words and actions and never allows popular sentiment to affect his value system.
A MAN does what is right BECAUSE it is right and needs no praise for doing so.
A MAN shows affection and compassion because to withhold these things for fear of how one appears is childish.
A MAN will always change the subject when a woman asks "does this make me look fat?" because the question itself is a trap and the best response is something along the lines of..."did you say you wanted to go dancing tonight?"
