Rumors have been swirling about the identity of John Hurt's character in Indiana Jones IV, with speculation pegging him as playing either Albert Einstein or Abner Ravenwood. The Hellboy and Alien actor remained tight-lipped about his role during a recent interview.

In a chat with EmpireOnline.com, Hurt said, "Well, I'm not allowed to tell you about my character -- it's under tight control for good reason. It's not meant to be 'boo to you sucks' type of thing -- it's because it makes sense...and it wouldn't help you to know what I was playing anyway."


In related news, Slashfilm.com reports that a scooper sent them a Motion Pictures Association of America Title Registration Report, which apparently revealed six possible titles for Indy IV:

Indiana Jones and the City of Gods,
Indiana Jones and the Destroyer of Worlds,
Indiana Jones and the Fourth Corner of the Earth,
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,
Indiana Jones and the Lost City of Gold,
and
Indiana Jones and the Quest for the Covenant.

Time will tell which if any is the actual final title.
