As an enormous fan (I named one of my kids after a Cash song) and knowing you, I'd recommend a couple of albums

CASH - American Recordings - #1 & #4 His resurgence into the counter-culture has been brilliant. You'll dig it because it's raw. Any of the Rick Rubin produced recent albums are pretty great, but I like these two best
