North by Northwest, you'll love
The Man Who Knew Too Much (1955). It's a similar "man gets caught up in worldly affairs" international thriller also directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Make sure you get the 1955 version starring James Stewart, because Hitch directed an earlier version as well, which isn't as strong.
Of course I'll always recommend
Vertigo...it's my third favorite film of all time. It's a hauntingly surreal thriller with ballsy twists and a fierce cast.
