The House that Dripped Blood (1971)
This British short horror tale collection is satisfactory, but not great. If you like Hammer films, Christopher Lee, or Peter Cushing, this film is for you. It is high on atmoshphere and mood (and the music is great) but the writing is just OK. Surprising too because the writer also wrote Psycho. The Wax Museum tale with Peter Cushing is my favorite, but the ending is dopey. The worst tale was the final one with the vampire cloak. It was very corny, the fake bat looked terribly phoney, and the large-breasted vampire actually flinches when they lift her up on the "flying wires".
