Some people find the language a bit antiquated but I think that adds to the feel and he is a master at atmosphere. I really liked Shadow Over Innsmouth as well. I also liked At the Mountains of Madness, The Lurking Fear, The Color Out of Space, Pickman's Model and the Call of Cthulu. I think reading Lovecraft adds so much to the horror experience in general because many authors and screenwriters have used his ideas as a basis for their own.

The Color Out of Space is another good one, I actually read it a long time back, one of the first Lovecraft stories I read, might be time to revisit it.
