i'm not sure if this is a hoax but for arguments sake i'm gonna reply like it isn't. if you are only 14 then that probably explains your blinkered attitude towards the oldies, but pre 2000 includes a lot of recenties. i don't really understand why production quality would put you off. one of the most successful movies of recent years was BWP and it was docu-horror. also, if you are a horror fan you are really limiting your enjoyment of the genre by boycotting anything that isn't glossy. try and look 'at what lies beneath'. i do agree with one thing you said, house of 1000 corpses does lose its way.
also, here are some movies you should watch that are from the dark ages of pre 2000. watch them for two good reasons. firstly, you won't be able to join in on many threads if you don't and secondly it'll go some way to rebuilding your credibility.
1, the exorcist. 2, the omen trilogy. 3, the fri13ths. 4, NOES's. 5, halloweens. 6, zombie. 7, suspiria. 8, the wickerman. 9, a clockwork orange. 10, cannibal holocaust. 11, ringu. 12, black christmas. 13, psycho. 14, TCM. 15, nosferatu.
the list is endless, but if i had to recommend a foundation, this would be it. finally, you should watch whatever makes you happy but if i were you i'd hold my own council in here rather that sweep in and rubbish the history of horror on my first day. lol. on the plus side, your first thread has made an impact. good luck noob!
