As great and fun and quirky and odd as the series is, the Movie is the real artistic statement.
I loved the series and really thought the idea of a prequel was lame...until I saw it.
Dark, unsettling and relentlessly inventive. Watch the series for the quirks and the fun, THEN watch the movie. It's one of Lynch's best.
