You have to teach kids to be responisible for their own actions (otherwise they will grow up to be adults who STILL can't accept responsibility, and blame the media/society for everything they do)...You can't make them believe that EVERYTHING is controlled with pills, even their own behavior, moods, feelings...It's disgusting

Teach them cause and effect...Consequences....You do something bad, it will turn out bad for you...Do something good, it will turn out good for you...Then let THEM decide whether they want to have something bad or good happen to themselves...Let them know that their actions have an effect on them, one way or the other, and let them make the choice as to how they want it to go...Eventually they'll get tired of having their things/privileges taken away, sitting in their rooms, etcetera, and understand that if they want to be happy, they will behave


Kids are NOT stupid...They are NOT pets or accessories...They have brains and CAN be taught to think and make decisions...They do NOT need drugs to "help them think"...I swear to god, a 7 year-old child said this to me, "Mommy said these (ritalin) are my 'thinking pills'...They help me be good, and they help me think"...I could have puked...Why didn't mommy say, "You have a BRAIN, THAT helps you think...If you are having trouble with that, I will teach you and help you"?

I have never understood how ANYONE could think it's a good idea to give a MIND-ALTERING drug, to a child whose mind is still FORMING...They HAVE to know that they're fucking up these kids' brains...It can only be that they just don't give a shit...And if that's the case, they should stop freaking out when the kids are 15-17, completely out of control, drug addicts...And they should not ask, "What's wrong with these kids?"...They already know...
