my story
Bought the 360 last April....did not get the extended warranty....red lights of death the end of November.If I was to send it to microsoft to fix, it would have cost me $144 plus shipping for a "refurbished" system.Said to myself....fuck it..Christmas was coming with about three games on list.Went to Best Buy and bought a $299 version [ didn't need the hard drive] also purchased the $40 two year warranty.
A week later microsoft extends its original warranty to a year.Callled them with no problems and had my old system back in less than two weeks.
Now I have two.......I'll use one for backup.
