Cool From Bauhaus to the Bates Motel

In the mid 1950s, graphic designer Saul Bass applied his interest in Bauhaus-era painters to the movie title sequences he was creating for Alfred Hitchcock (among others). He pioneered the idea of title sequence as a mini-movie. And for "Psycho" he was slicing up the type before Norman Bates even appeared onscreen.
