To start, I wasn't referring to you solely...just thought I'd throw that in...but I will say that you HAVE made it known that you would be effected by "what people might say". Think about it...the people that would leap to the defense of this person in particular would really more than likely be doing so just to challenge you, not even fully behind the issue themselves.
I would say that the majority of the 'good' posters up in here would be absolutely behind you on this one...this very thread shows as much.
Sure, there's people that say it doesn't really bother them, they ignore him...whatever. Everyone can do that, for sure. But yknow - it's all of us having to do so, being forced to take a passive stance to what is an ongoing problem that brings down the quality of this place, it really does.
I've said it before many times, so, I'll just say to refer back to my "bullshit avalanche" theory. It happens in multiple threads, threads and posts get made about it = MORE avalanche. Like urg says, threads get killed, and good ones get pushed back by stupid shit, then people just stop bothering to post good threads, or even post in their own threads which have been fucked up by this idiot.
However, I want to point out that where I understand your perspective with wanting your decisions to be met with overall approval, I DID say

You know it, I know it....the majority up in here have had a problem with this guy, in all of his names. I really don't know how many people need to point this out. A ban is a ban...like you say, it's not as though they can't come back. When they DO, if they change, sure let them hang around...if they don't, fuck them off again. It's not hard. It's not some big thing or the act of a dictator, you're just giving the place a chance to shed some stupidity for a while.
My point is - lets assume you (and the other mods) have been chosen for your moderation position because you've proven to be relevant posters with good insights, you're levelheaded, you all contribute, and you're not a bunch of stupid dicks. I think most would agree, no?
So, you're here to represent us, that was the initial basis for the decision...or something in that general ballpark?
So do it, and stop letting the "what ifs" get to you, because they only stop you from doing what you're supposed to here, which is IMO to uphold the integrity of this place, and keep the posters that make this place GOOD coming back to do so.
Fuck all those that'll give you shit, they're just part of the problem IMO...Although on this matter I don't think it'll be all that many anyways.
