I was able to configure a super fast machine for $1289

Be cautious with the big names though, a lot of times they use proprietary hardware, so rather than upgrading at a later date, you have to buy a whole new PC.


Stay away from Compaq, in my experience they are crap.

In my travels so far, i have found that most (if not all) companies that build computers these days are making them Vista capable, AND offering free upgrades from Xp to Vista, which is HUGE.
