Jason X took the same basic idea, but made it more subtle. They made it seem like it was to be taken seriously, which is why so many people think its crap. Its tounge was just as firmly planted in its cheek, but it didnt wink quite so much as "Jason Lives".
I do see your point...I guess it all comes down to a matter of opinion. I guess if I'm going to watch a Friday the 13th movie, my brain will be turned off, so I enjoy the "out there in front of me" rediculous humor more than 'X''s subtle rediculous humor.
