I actually typed that out wrong. I meant that I enjoyed all of the franchise except 'X', not that all of them were made for enjoyment except 'X'.

This I don't understand. Are you saying that 'Jason Lives' tried to hard to advance a concept and fell on its ass, but Parts 7, 8, and 'X' didn't?

If you ask me, ressurecting Jason and having him wreak havoc in the woods (and not for the first time) is a far less extreme plot than facing him off with a psychic girl with telekinetic powers or freezing him and taking him into space, where, by chance, he gets shoved right into some futuristic device that turns him into something reminiscent of a Transformer.
