For those of you who watched it, does any of the technology excite you? I have never seen that level of detail before. They had 2 programmers dedicated for a year developing the water for the game, so rather than simply a semi-static backdrop that you can "drown" in, it is actually a dynamic, fluid part of the environment. watch how it flows over one of the "Big Daddies" as it walks under a waterfall (none of the scenes are scripted, they are actual gameplay) and the water actually pours over it.
Another thing that blew me away was the drill going through the player's hand. It is way beyond the prefabbed animations that games usually employ and seemed completely on the fly. If you have the patience to sit through the long one, listen to the narration, the guy really knows what he is talking about.
As a programmer, and as one who has been doing some video game research, this game is incredibly exciting. DirectX 10 is amazing and is going to redefine how games are made, so take your pick, get an Xbox 360, or a new computer.
