I do not have a problem with movies being remade. My problem is with the selection of which movies are getting remade. Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Night, Dawn, Day of the Dead? Psycho? These are already perfect films to begin with. A remake's purpose should be to improve a film's legacy, not tarnish it.
So basically, I agree with everything being said in this thread. Movies like Death Race 2000 and Black Christmas that had good elements but could have been done better.... Those are the types of films that should be getting remakes. Not something that's already a classic because there is absolutely zero chance of them ever being better than the original. If one were to remake House of the Dead or some other shit movie, one would have very little chance of not being lightyears better than original and thereby improving the legacy.
