At the end of the preliminary group matches of Group 2, which was a more tough and closely contested group, the list of notable losers are as follows :-


01 - The Monster Squad...(Beetlejuice managed to JUST scrap by)

02 - The Changeling...(surprising loss to the Hunger) (HDC Top 100 Ranked - 54th)

03 - Dead Ringers...(immensely popular movie which proved to be more than a match for Monkey Shines)

04 - The Toxic Avenger...(This Troma classic didnt have enough steam to get past Maniac Cop)

05 - Dead and Buried...(Spoorloos won the popularity contest)

06 - Psycho II...(One of the best sequels ever, yet Videodrome buried it good and proper)

07 - Near Dark...(very popular, but cant do much when you are pitted against nothing less than An American Werewolf in London)

08 - The Burning...(surprising and shocking loss to The Fly II, the shocker match of Group 2)

09 - The Lair of the White Worm...(This cult flick lost a close matchup with Hellraiser II)

10 - Killer Klowns from Outer Space...(Hugely popular, but was no match for the equally popular sequel to Demons)

11 - Inferno...(The critically acclaimed sequel to Suspiria, which was surprisingly shut out by Halloween II)

12 - Manhunter...(One of the best in the 80s, but no match for Re-Animator)(HDC Top 100 Ranking - 90th)

13 - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2...(Hot favorite and a winner according to the odds, yet lost to the quietly praised Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer)(HDC Top 100 Ranking - 57th)

14 - The Beyond...(Not so popular among the voters after all who chose Poltergeist II over it)(HDC Top 100 Ranking - 94th)

15 - Pet Sematary...(Hailed by many as one of the best Stephen King adaptations on-screen, but failed to make an impact over the more popular Return of the Living Dead)(HDC Top 100 Ranking - 76th)

16 - The Witches of Eastwick...(A great movie, lost a close battle to Bad Taste)
