Very nice post, Bud. Thanks bro I loved reading that. :)

Quote:
1988
May 12-13 (Friday) - Tommy, now a grown-up 16-year-old, is released from the mental institution. When he digs up Jason's grave, intending to cremate him, Jason is reanimated by a bolt of lightning. Jason kills his way toward Camp Forest Green, which is once again attempting to open its doors to campers. Tommy drowns Jason in Lake Forest Green (Crystal Lake) and the camp is shut down permanently. (Friday the 13th Part VI)
perfect end to what could have been an awesome franchise.

1989
October 13 (Friday) - John Shepard is killed when his 13 year-old daughter Tina uses her telekinetic powers to collapse the dock on which he is standing. Tina is sent to a mental hospital. (Friday the 13th Part VII prologue)
1993
October 13 (Friday) Stephanie Kimble, daughter of Jessica Kimble and Steven Freeman, is born.

August 13 (Friday) - Tina Shepard, now 17, returns to Crystal Lake with her mother and her psychiatrist, Dr. Crews. Tina accidentally raises Jason with her telekinesis, and he goes on another murderous rampage. Tina finally forces Jason back into the lake. (Friday the 13th Part VII)
^^^ thats where it started to become really shitty.

But thinking on the other side of the coin, the people who made Jason X didnt have much to go on for, after Jason goes to Hell. Hence the setting of the future, space etc, desperately hoping to wrap the terror of Jason into an Alien-esque type atmosphere. The movie wasnt bad at all, considering from that point of view. I dont see why people keep bashing it up.

You will agree with me that continuity of a franchise is a tough job to keep up with. Especially after 8 sequels have been made before. We wont have a brilliant F13 sequel or FvJ anymore, but maybe some good watchable ones. For that matter, no sequel to a popular cult classic can be deemed to be excellent, except perhaps Aliens. But that had the Cameron touch, hence it can be regarded as the only exception.
