I think that question was answered somewhere else - Leatherface is still alive, while Jason has been dead for years. In the previous Friday's it has become well known that Jason is seemingly indestructible and impervious to weapons (apart from the beginning of Jason goes to hell, where he gets blown up). So unless Leatherface somehow follows suit I don't think it would last very long.
The same could, I suppose be said of Jason Vs Michael - both are seemingly unstoppable, as I have said in a previous post, there was mention of a Freddy Vs Jason Vs Michael, a while back, but the film would never have an ending - Jason stabs Michael, Michael falls down (dead), seconds later Michael gets up and stabs Jason, Jason falls down (even though we all know he isn't really dead), Jason gets up and stabs Michael and so on .... etc.
I would also think that this would mean a new direction for Michael, as in Halloween and its' sequels although Michael does stab people and occassionally slits their throat for good measure, the emphasis is on the ghostly, unstoppable menace - the boogeyman; his deaths are quick and fleeting, while Jason enjoys his work and Friday is more effects laden, with heaps of gore thrown in.
