you have a good point angra. What does it do? For me it gives you the feeling of being scared and worried without being in any real danger which gets adrenaline pumping round. Also, many aspects can appeal to real life. Like how Michael became evil and how societies push and push and get what they deserve (jason.)
Also, i think a few, as my dad would say, "safety police" (mothers and teachers who say that you shouldnt climb up trees and ban snowball fights) have complained. Just nobody listens o them and they get a shocking letter back home swearing, threatening and pointing out young children can only watch horror movies if they stay up past the nine o'clock watershed or their parents by them a DVD. Because they cant see it in the cinema and the parents decide whether it's appropriate for their individual child.
Or the kid could go round his mates and watch a film that their mum made them promise not to watch til they were 21 i.e a clockwork orange. (me!):p
