All you guys make me feel better about the world!
I've known I was gay for 40+ years--and I really haven't been repressed or my style cramped.
I have just as many straight friends as gay ones--probably more.
Yes, I have a boyfriend--but his parents like me--but it has never occurred to me to want to get married.
Except for my parents, who were separated before my birth in 1943, all my parent figures have had long, happy marriages--58yrs.,61yrs.
I'm one of the ones on the poll that voted for civil unions rather than marriage--I guess because the thought of marriage bores me.
I personally have always thought that marriage is for the benefit of the offspring--of which I have none. But I do think couples who want to get married should be allowed to do so.
Thanks again--I did not read a single post which I found offensive--or even that I really disagreed with.
Must get back to packing and moving--D-day is Monday.
