Masters of Horror: Imprint
This is actually my first exposure to Miike's work...it wasnt bad, but I was hoping for a better first impression.
I had no problem with the pacing or the fact that it was in english (two things Ive heared people complain about), but I didnt like the way it ws presented. Lots of it seemed utterly pointless...I dont want to spoil anything, but it really has a "twists-for-twists-sake" mentality in places. Huge chunks of narrative are shown to be completly needless if not just to set up a twist.
It was well made and well directed, but it really could have been alot shorter.
***Spoiler***
Ok so I didnt want to spoil anything...but was I the only one that was reminded of some twisted cross between Oldboy and Basket Case near the end?
