You can't be worried about your friends not liking who you go out with. If they're friends, they'll understand.
The gay friend? Be cool. Be a friend but be firm (and calm) if he should make any advances on you. I've been through that one several tmies and it's uncomfortable, but they always get it and respect you as long as you're firm (no pun intended) and honest with them.
And seriously, find something about yourself that you like. You're thin. Being thin is cool, wear clothes that accentuate it. You need to get over the "I'm not attractive" mentality.
