I felt that sort of mentality. I can't argue whether it's like Misery because I haven't seen Misery. But I didn't get the sense she was trying to persuade him that it was wrong. She was simply punishing him; her goal wasn't to get him to say he was sorry, or to realize it was wrong. She just wanted to, well, make him pay.

which was kind of obvious. so what's the whole point of this discussion. the mind fuck is not in getting to see what we think is the bad guy, change his mind and become repentant, but to see this little girl basically take an evil turn. his previous actions are only questioned by her, the audience in turn is questioning this girl's actions.
