My only advice to you is, DONT RUSH.

Audio Production isnt something that can be learned through a program.
So many people buy Acid and start throwing loops together, thinking they are music producers.

Before buying any software, learn the basics regardings EQ - Compression - Bussing, Layering,Gating,Reverbs/Delays And editing/Mixing.

Download the free demo of acid and soundforge, and play around. But at the same time, get a few books about Engineering.

It truly is a science.
And should be respected. If your really dedicated to your band and the quality of your music, take the time to learn what its all about. Software doesnt teach that.

Acid, is a good program, very easy, but it is more loop based. For a live band, i would say Pro Tools is the best bet. Its the industry standard, so its best to start on the right foot. They all pretty much work the same, and the can be rewired to one another.

But without knowing the basics (the shit i mentioned above). Your bound to get very frustrated very quickly.

Best Of luck.

If you have any questions. Shoot.
