Army of Darkness
Being a huge fan of the Evil Dead franchise, and a huge Bruce Campbell fan in general, I knew I was going to enjoy this. It totally abandons the horror aspect of the first 2, but is still ALOT of fun.
The plot is completly off-the-wall, and I loved it. It picks up where ED2 leaves off, with Ash transported to the Middle Ages. He has to find the Necronomicon in order to return to his own time, but inadvertantly unleashes Hell upon the world...literally. Great plot, kept me absorbed and enthralled from beginning to end.
Ash has got to be one of the greatest characters ever put on film. He really comes into his own in this one, spouting more one-liners than ever. Bruce Campbell is a very underrated actor who really deserves more recognition. The rest of the cast are pretty good as well.
Though it's nothing like it's predacessors, this is a great film. Sure it's kind of silly, but it knows what it is and has fun with it.
