at the time it was written it would have seemed very clever and plausible.
its not like it doesnt happen here by the way ..
we can get very sick by simply drinking the water of another country on OUR planet. Its not like we dont have Drs.
i think that would be fuel enough for Wells' imagination back in the day.
as i've said on a couple of occasions .. this movie was full of effective moments and only really failed at the end.
(the brother surviving for a feelfood hollywood ending) and the bullshit 'carry the child up the street' sequence which was so obviously for dramatic effect alone that it was rediculous.
its a pity someone just doesnt film the book proper. I think JAckson should redo the damn thing.
