A Vasectomy is no big deal, your in and out in a few minutes. Rest over the week end with ice packs/bags of frozen peas, kinda go easy with lifting the next week and voila'! all better without the shotgun wedding/child support, or another unwanted child in the world.
You've made a consious desision based on your own facts and beliefs, as long as a Doctor will do it (possible problems if you are childless or at a young age), go for it. I did and believe me...happier than hell that I did! Sex actually improves because the threat of a possible pregnancy is, for the most part, gone.
And FYI, after the surgery, you ARE NOT shooting "blanks" until you have SEVERAL ejaculations AFTER the surgery and have a sperm count done once you hit the magic number (I wanna say about 30) the doctor sets for ya! Until then, treat the ol' boy like he is armed and dangerous! :D
Oh, and BTW, there are several methods that can be used in a vasectomy; sectioned and burnt, tied, and clipped. Clipping is more for the guy who may change his mind - they just place clips on the tubes and they can be removed if you so desire - I have heard that these clips can become disloged, making it possible to father a child...usually causing a big suprised look on ones face!
I chose the more perminant method - sectioned and burnt. Didn't want any "boo-boos!
