The first horror movie that really freaked me out was the 50's House of Wax. I saw it on my friend's black and white television(it's a color movie) when I was five. Somehow I think the bad picture and lack of color made it much scarrier for me. My little kid brain imagined the worst possible things going on under the murkey static. I had a hard time walking through my darkened kitchen for a while.

The first modern horror film I saw was the thirdFriday the Thirteenth movie when I was ten. I saw it on tv with my cousin. Mostly i was interested and amazed that there were naked girls in it. I didn't care much about the slasher stuff either way.
