I take them at their word on the first two films, both of which are presented in two versions -- a dubbed cut version and a subtitled uncut version.

I'm suspicious of the second two films, which are presented in only one version (with options for langauges and subtitles). They seem considerably tamer than the first two, which makes one wonder if there is not a more explict version of either one out there.

Of course, determining what is cut and uncut can be tricky in a case like this, where the films were co-productions between two or three different countries. In the extras on the box set, Spanish writer-director Amando de Ossorio hints that sometimes the German co-producer would ask for more nudity, and indeed the photo gallery shows quite a few nude pics that are not in RETURN OF THE BLIND DEAD. Does this mean the film was "cut," or does it mean that extra stuff was shot and added for export to Germany?
