means you can have wireless network connection (to a a/b/g transmitter), assuming there is a wireless network available. as for internet, that depends on the network (chances are that the connection is encrypted anyways)
laptops aren't as easy to fix so i would seriously consider extending the warranty.
but one question you need to ask is this, if you need 1gb of ram because you are processing images in photoshop...will the graphics be adequate? it sounds like you can up the assigned graphical memory to 128 mb, is that enough? and remember that this memory comes out of the 1gb system RAM.
