I'm pretty sure it was IT for me. I was 8 or 9 when it first premiered on TV. My dad watched it... and despite it scaring the heck out of me I watched most of it as well. I was already scared of clowns at that time, but IT definitely reinforced that fear and - frankly - flat out traumatized me for years. If I happened to think of it before I shower, for instance, I would shower standing as far away from the drain as possible with my eyes fixed on it. :-p Still, it was the birth of my horror fandom. We went to the library alot around that time and I started reading Stephen King. I'm honestly not a big fan of his work now, but I read ALOT of Stephen King between the ages of 8/9 and 14 or so.
Actually, I didn't watch alot of horror movies through my teens. I was a horror fan, but more when it came to fiction. It's only been in the last three or four years that I've REALLY gotten into horror cinema.
