...And if he does want to talk to you, maybe he's just trying to get to know you. Dad's are like that. If you become a father one day, you'll be exactly the same. He may have some questions for you since his daughter is coming to visit. Don't panic yet.
If you do talk to him, just be the perfect gentleman. Be honest and frank. Show your intelligence, because we know you've got it. Don't stress, although you're palms are going to be a bit sweaty.
In college, my best friend's dad was from Germany. He's a little intimidating at first, but after a while, he turned out to be great. He was like a surrogate father to me.
From my experience, German folks are just no nonsense, but they're pretty cool, just like other pretty cool people.
(If you ever meet him face to face, do not, under any circumstances, give a limp handshake. Strong and firm. I mean it. That is the first benchmark to a good first impression. Personally, I hate limp hand shakes, myself).
