I have no clue how Stephen Sommers got a job after this putred mess. Nothing was right in this movie. Everything fell off of the boat and sunk to the bottom of the ocean (sorry for the pun). The directing was off-key, and the camera angles were basically the same the whole movie. I don't remember ever seeing any special loops or angles in this movie whatsoever. I will admit that for a Disney flick (yes, it was distributed by Disney), it was pretty bloody. This doesn't mean the goreaholics are getting a filler. Besides the skeleton room scene and the melting face scene, there wasn't too much blood or gore. But, like I said, it was surprising to see some. The acting wasn't good at all. Even Famke Jannsen didn't do a good job. Everybody was just there for their paychecks. And I hope it was a big one. Because I wouldn't have gone for it without some big bucks involved. All in all, Deep Rising sunk lower than the bottom of the ocean. It sunk the whole way down to Hell. Poor Satan!

i loved Deep Rising ..
it was the only Sommers movie i liked.
i thought it was a fun action flick ...

only 1 problem .. they should have let the asian
gal live - she's a doll ... and kill of her whiney boyfriend instead.
Sommers must like that guy though because he played an even more irritating asshole in The Mummy.
