I've watched a good few films of late.
Continuing on with the Guinea Pig Series:
Mermaid in a Manhole
LoL - well firstly, I had to check this out due to such an outrageous title. I have to say, so far this has had the best story and plot of the Guinea Pig Series to date. Not that that's saying much admittedly but the story was ok, the gore was typically splendid ( green, blue, purple, yellow, orange and black puss to use as paint for a painting) I mean that's special lol!! I won't tell much about the story apart from if you have a phobia of worms this movie is not for you!

He Never Dies
Another in the Guinea Pig Series this one is more of a comedy. It is about a guy who is bored with his life and work and so decided to kill himself - that's nothing new I hear you say - well, this guy tries everything. He slits his wrist, his blood runs dry and he doesn't die. He smashes an axe into his skull, the axe sticks and he continues to defy the odds and so you get the comedy. Not a bad effort and with a running time of just over 40 mins it's not all bad.

Armageddon
I continued my viewing with watching this for the first time and I have to say yes it's incredibly cheesy - yes it's one of them god bless America films in the ilk of Independence Day but we Brits sometimes, sometimes dig this. lol. Definetley a popcorn movie and I found it entertaining enough so...

Elephant
I put this on expecting a treat after the numerous great reviews it recieved. I have to say for the first 20 mins or so (the film runs for 75 mins) I was at a loss as to what was happening and got the impression it was being far too 'arty'. However, now having watched it I really appreciate the different approach this film had to the subject of mass murder / serial slayings. It took the perspective of the victims from the start using flashbacks and telling the story from every 'main' persons point of view. this was particularly effective as once they were killed you were left feeling for the characters. Having said all that, I think parts of the film could have been speeded up a little (did we really have to sit and listen to Eric Clebold play Beethoven in his bedroom on the piano ALL the way through)? I personally thought they were Mansonites so am sure Marilyn would have something to say after the finger of blame was pointed at him in the press - hey blame Beethoven!! How clockwork Orange!
This was a decent effort and I will be interested to see what the director has made of kurt Cobain's 'Last Days'.

Batteries Not Included
After such heavy subjects as mass murder I plumped for the old 80's classic - Batteries not Included and had a blast! I loved this film all of them years ago, god bless DVD for bringing it back! Thoroughly enjoyed this once more
