The Satanic Rites of Dracula (1973)
As my interest of Dracula, and vampire movies in general, goes from large to obssesive, I've been seeing many different renditions of the classic novel.
I read the book, and I'm now trying to see a wide variety of Dracula films.
I love the Lugosi version (seen it 3 times in the last month, once with commentary) although it's far from the book, and I love the Coppolla version for it's closeness to Bram's original story.
This one, however, surprised me. I LOVED IT. I thought it was a very fun film, and its performances (Christopher Lee- forever a low-budget hero) and strange scenes easily entertained where its likeness to the book failed.
What are some of your opinions on this film?
