Ok, I just need to comment on this. Now, I havent seen Scream, as Ive mentioned a few times around here. Looks to be a fairly decent film, I saw the last 10 minutes or so on TV. It's effect of the horror genre, however, is legendary. Helped breath life into it? How about helped create a half-assed, self-aware ressurection of the slasher genre? If by "helped breath life into it" you mean the quantity of horror films influenced by it, you have a point. However if you're saying the films that it influenced brought quality to the dying genre...if that's the case, I have nothing more to say to you.
